I'm not sure why one would need such a variety of knives. I think it may be like fishing lures, anything shiny and brightly colored makes us want it but in the end we'll lose it and be left with a whole in our body.

My father-in-law has a knife collection that is completely insane. That being said I have more than a couple but less than a collection I would say. Some have special meaning to me like this one:
