Memory Lane

The problem with memory lane, is it takes you everyplace you have ever been and nowhere all at once.

There is a palpable energy in the air during the football season, the students are back and the vigor they bring breathes new life back into the city.

This year brings hope.

It is more than the pride, the traditions, and history of our storied athletic program.  Its about honor and doing things right. Having something to rally around.

Its about something bigger then ourselves.

So we could have played a fluff team for out opener, but a challenging win means much more. So Hoke could have let Toussaint play in what might arguably be the biggest game of the season, but instead he did what was right and suspended him for his actions. Now a win will mean more.

Michigan has played Alabama before, but never in the regular season. They do hold the advantage in the series 2-1 but these stats mean next to nothing.

Tonight under the lights in Cowboy Stadium we will take the field as the underdogs. We will walk in heads high, and our expectation will be nothing less than a win.

 We carry the hopes of the Big 10 with us, and well do so with honor and integrity.

We will succeed… as we always have.
