Happy Hollween

Distant thunder, cold as stone,
a demon screams down from its throne.
One by one, each will succumb.
when something wicked this way comes.

Ill winds mark its fearsome flight,
and autumn branches creak with fright.
The landscape turns to ashen crumbs,
when something wicked this way comes.

Crystal water turns to dark,
where e'er its presence leaves its mark,
and boiling currents pound like drums,
when something wicked this way comes.

A presence dark invades the fair,
and gives the horses ample scare,
for chaos reigns and panic numbs,
when something wicked this way comes.

You Really Screwed Up This Time Sony Ericsson.

Ok this phone thing has really got my feathers ruffled. I am telling you something I am so brand loyal usually my middle name should be CONSUMER. I know that I have ranted about this before but now that the invented the new memory stick micro (m2) rendering my memory stick duo all but useless I have been forced to look at other phones.

I found one.

This Nokia has caught my eye: the N80.

This phone seems to have everything… and more then Ericsson’s 790a.

Including a 3mp camera and here is the best thing… WIFI. I mean WIfreekingFI I would pay more just for that and here is the best thing yet: its less expensive.

Should have never made a new memory standard Sony, this one might just be my next phone.

Fall Tree

Today I snapped this quick picture of a tree that managed not to loose its leaves in yesterdays monsoon.

If you look close you can see the moon in the background.

karma

OMG….

In the middle of an angry clients rant yesterday… she reminded me of something. Karma. She meant it like Karma was going to punish me, for which I really have no idea as she was clearly just mad at someone else (in my opinion) and taking it out on me.

But it got me thinking… Why had I lost something really? (see previoius post) Maybe it was fate, maybe I was supposed to loose it. Maybe just maybe this was the balance to my unbalance somehow.

It occurred to me then that this item would come back to me if it was important or not. Either way I had to stop obsessing over it.

Anyway I try and live… be a good person and what happens, happens. Right?

Later I was home I picked up a fleece pull-over that was left on the back of a chair and there, from the hemline hanging literally by-a-thread… was the pocket knife I was missing. No not the super awesome one I got for my birthday . This is my everyday one I carry that I had been missing, and obsessing over. When I pulled off the fleece, an errant thread must have just caught the clip of the knife and pulled it right out of my pocket.

Smiling, I snatched it up and to myself thanked the angry client for reminding me that we usually get what we deserve.

Lost & Not Yet Found

Those who know me… really know me might observe that I go CRAZY when I loose something.

Usually its when I am hung-over, tired, or sick.

Something happens and my usual balance of things is just off enough that I misplace something, something of unusual importance or value. This only happens when the balance is off and something is wrong.

After coming off a illness from the weekend, I was in no shape to work Monday. I know me. I knew the risks it chose to face the day. This was my mistake.

Of course it happened. I lost something I really, like. It was not particularly valuable, but is utterly driving me crazy. I swear if I do not find it soon… I am going to... I am going to… Hell I don’t know what I am going to do. But right now it is just pissing me off.

Super GPS On The Cheap

One of my favorite technologies is GPS. I love those satellites up there, letting me know where I am….

But I have not ever been happy with the receivers I have had over the years. I have had everything from a cheap Etrex to an expensive Garmin 296 (which I still have and works sweet in the plane BTW) my biggest gripes: screen size and lack of maps.

A while ago, I read an article about this Garmin GPS 18 Deluxe USB receiver for your laptop, I think it was in Pop-Sci… anyhow I filed it under “thinks to look into” and months later… I bought one. It cost me just over $100.00

Garmin + my tablet pc = love.

It came with software that was a breeze to use and a cd with all the DETAILED (I mean really detailed) maps I could want. I had to whip up this goofy looking wood bracket in the wood shop and sure it covers my radio, but damn… this thing works awesome.

It talks to you in a pleasant female voice; it is so intuitive and picks up satellites like it was its job. And the screen… finally big enough to see.

Extra bonus… you can watch dvds when you know where you are going and want to be totally distracted. (seriously do not attempt while driving)

Extra extra bonus… PC in the car. Need I Say more.

Tanner Under the Desk

Despite the fact that Tanners fluffy bed was mere feet away, she insists on being under my desk. Crammed under the desk head smooshed against the refrigerator, and the rolling lateral file hidden beneath my feet she still manages to be cute.
