Today I came home to find the Kitty had my Sweeties back. That's
important at naptime.

Tall Dresser Project

The wood shop, along with many things, has been neglected lately. I did find some time to get out there to work on the tall dresser project. Here is a photo of the top drawer together and in place.

You can almost see what it will look like when it will be done.

Sometime soon, just a few more man hours to go.

Mars Lander

Is it just me or is it totally cool that we have a new mars Lander. (Images or Red Planet enter my brain).

Anyway, I had no idea this was even going on:

WTF

(apologies for the bad picture but it was late and camera phone only)

Ok …. How the HELL they going to get the lower crane out of this hole?

All other three sides a 90 degree shear cliff.

Anyone?

Mystery Sod

The woods adjacent to the rec-center where I take the dog for her daily, run has seen some transformation as of late. Some one has hired a “landscaper” who has some sort of Attila-the-Hun approach to landscape design. I have noticed whole areas of undisturbed woodlands devastated and left barren.

Today, however, was the capper when I ran into the pine forest and walked into this sod farmland.

I hope they are not trying to lay this sod here, as it will not survive under the thick canopy of the pines and the acidic soil left form the 1 inch thick floor of pine needles left from the trees that surround.

It would not surprise me if the final plans are to remove all the trees to make way for the sod in accordance to the hack methods they have employed so far.

Here you can see a before and after picture, with a Small Tanner cameo.

Cool Gear-Ferrari California

Sometimes you see something that makes you draw you breath.

This it the case of the Ferrari California. ($TBA) is an all-aluminum 2-seater with a retractable, folding hard top. Under the hood, the Maserati-esque convertible will feature a mid-front mounted 460-hp 4.3-liter V8. Other specs include a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, F1-Trac traction control system, and a 0 to 60 time of under 4 seconds.

Thanks to UNCRATE for bringing this to my attention.

Congrats Jessie & James

Today Jessie & James were married in a great ceremony out side in a beautiful park. Mother nature really dealt them a nice hand doling out a perfect day. Where rain and wind were in the area, there were only sun and blue skies at the park. Perhaps it really was more than luck and someone was really smiling down and blessing the union.

The Child In Everyone

Today I saw my “Work Neighbor” who took the time to stop me and say hi. I knew something was up. Not that he would not have said hello normally, but today he was smiling to make the Cheshire cat look like a downer.

Turns out, he remembered I was a pilot, and he stopped to tell me that he had his first solo flight this weekend. Seriously it was hurting me just to look at him. I reminded me how happy flying can make you and that I need to go flying more.

Gabriel’s Birthday #6

Last weekend was Gabriel’s party. You can see her Gabriel opening presents; he was adorned with gifts as usual. Dressed in his Egyptian garb for this theme party.

Of course we had to get his sister a little something and you can see by her expression Mina was just as happy.

Movie Night: Iron Man

This weekend Barb and I want to see the gizmo-orgasmic movie IRON MAN.

All I want to say: I want that suit. Um and yeah his lab is better than my shop and not just the super-cars sitting in the corner.

It was good, and what made it better due to a buy one get one free coupon… we were able to see the movie for *free*.

Gas to go see movie $2.00

Popcorn and water $7.00

Pressuring the manager into giving us free tickets…. Priceless.

Take Note

Chelsey has decorated the house with post it notes labeling everything
in Russian and Italian as she crams for her spring Russian class.
Making the house one giant visual aid.
